[y1056] Pretty 3ct 1869 cover from Hamden, Connecticut.  Red CDS at left; stamp with manuscript cancel, addressed to Trinity College, Hartford CT.  Allover underprinted advertising for Rectory School, Rev. C. W. Everest, of Hampden.  Water stain at left and top.  Docketing provides 1869 date on reverse.  $90
[3711]  Pretty color ad cover for P. Lorillard Company Tobacco, Jersey City NJ.  Shows a plug of Lorillard's Climax brand of tobacco with somewhat of a trompe l'oeil effect.  Printed address to Washington CH Ohio; backstamp with some smudges; small circular logo on backflap; pencil note indicates "ex Steve Rich collection".  Pretty cover, with Jersey City flag cancel on 2ct 1st bureau. $100
[y3145]  Neat 1850s advertising cover for Sunderlands Book of Human Nature, sold by Bela Marsh of Boston MA.  Human head profile, with text describing the publications.  Interesting early psychology related cover.  3 cent 1851 issue #11, mailed from Moline IL to Ontario IL.  Some stain spots but a very unusual cover. [3178] 1904 ad cover from Troy, New York for that city's Industrial and Mercantile Exposition, sponsored by the Commercial Travelers' Association.  Red text advertising at upper left; 2 cent shield (#3219) with duplex handstamp and run-off International machine cancel (second strike at left; machine was misfeeding).  Sent to Waterford NY; light bend at lower right.  Nice local expo item.  2 hinge marks and some soiling on reverse with backstamp.  SOLD
[3155]  Cute 1870s Kentland, Indiana 3 cent banknote cover; CDS and cork cancel, sent to North Vernon.  Chicken chasing grasshopper corner card with “if you don’t catch him in 10 days, come back to…”  French and Comer, Proprietors of the Gazette.  Cute example of this caricature return to sender corner card.  SOLD
[3164]  1902 Waterville, Maine cover from the Noyes Stove Company, with nice vignette of one of the company’s products (a wood or coal-fired cooking stove).  Waterville American machine flag cancel on 2 cent 1st bureau issue; slight reduction at right but not impacting stamp or postmark. $15
